While February was strangely warm, March has certainly made up for it! Daffodil and tulip bulbs continue to come up all along the trail and we certainly hope the unusual snowy weather doesn't hamper their growth.

Landscaping volunteer season is upon us! Please consider volunteering for the Philly Spring Cleanup at Schuylkill Banks, Saturday April 7 (click here for signup info). It is our first big event of spring and we will be mulching planting beds, raking leaves and painting a few bridge abutments if weather permits.

With the snow comes a reminder to dog owners to not leave dog waste along the trail. With spring in mind, if you are a hammock user, please be considerate of the trees. When hanging, please use straps rather than rope and tie off to the core of the tree, not individual limbs. Technically, Parks and Recreation asks that nothing be attached to a tree on park property.

If you are using the Grays Ferry Crescent, please be mindful of the construction now underway on the Schuylkill Crossing near the Grays Ferry Avenue entrance. There will be equipment and debris around that part of the trail for the coming year of construction.

All this snow will make for a beautiful spring. We look forward to seeing you on the Banks!
