New Fixit Station Installed on Trail
Cyclists who use the Schuylkill River Trail received an early holiday present this year! The Schuylkill River Greenway Association in partnership with REI Coop and PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources cut the ribbon on December 12 for the first of seven bicycle Fixit stations being installed along the Schuylkill River Trail. “Schuylkill River Greenways is thrilled to partner with REI and DCNR in providing these fabulous bike support stations in seven different locations along the Schuylkill River Trail. Cyclists using the trail will now have access to these repair stations. We believe the Fixit stations will help trail users have a positive experience and help connect more people to this incredible regional resource,” said Elaine Paul Schafer, Schuylkill River Greenways Executive Director.
Each Fixit station features a bike rack, an air pump for tires in need of a boost, and a full set of tools for minor bike repair. Fixit stations will also be installed along the Schuylkill River Trail in East Falls, Phoenixville, Spring City, Pottstown, Union Township, and Birdsboro.
