Biff's Bench

On March 7, 2014, SRDC Staff joined Harrison “Biff” Wetherill and his loved ones on Schuylkill Banks to celebrate Biff’s 70th birthday and dedicate a bench on Schuylkill Banks in his honor. With this dedication, Biff became the first ever recipient of a Schuylkill Banks Bench Plaque. All proceeds from Biff’s bench plaque will support on-going maintenance and programming along the greenway.

Biff’s plaque will be installed on a bench on the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk. Biff’s wife, Susan Wetherill, chose the bench location because Biff frequently sits on the Banks to watch Boardwalk construction progress. Biff’s unwavering attention to the project has earned him the title of “Citizen Boardwalk Inspector.”

SRDC would like to thank the Wetherill Family for their generous donation. We hope that Biff continues to enjoy watching Boardwalk construction, and sits on his bench often!
