The Schuylkill River Development Corporation (SRDC) seeks bids for the restoration of a section of the Schuylkill Banks shoreline located on the east side of the Schuylkill River in the vicinity of South Street. Specific work tasks and details are shown on the Contract Documents (Bid Manual and Drawing Package) which are linked below.
SRDC is eager to have this work completed in a timely manner and intends to make a decision and enter into a contract quickly. It is our expectation that prospective bidders are able and committed to begin work upon receipt of the necessary permits and end of the annual moratorium for work in the river (July 1, 2025). The Bid Submission date is April 16, 2025, and bids are due by 4pm. SRDC reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
Pre-Bid Site Visit
No pre-bid meeting will be held. However, contractors are advised and strongly encouraged to visit the project site before quoting to view and assess the project scope, site conditions and limitations. SRDC would be pleased to escort contractors on this site visit and answer any questions about the project (see Page 1 of the Instructions to Bidders in the Bid Manual). Ideally, the site visit should occur at low tide.

This information will be used to send out Addenda or other project information and/or answers and clarifications to questions that arise during the bid period. Unless you advise us, we may not know of your interest in the project.

Material questions, such as project clarifications which could affect the bidding, should be emailed to Joseph Syrnick ([email protected]) by April 8, 2025. Answers to these questions will be emailed to all parties who have advised SRDC that they have an interest in this bid and have provided Danielle Whitesel ([email protected]) a contact name and email address.
Contractors are advised that this contract is partially funded with Commonwealth of Pennsylvania grants. Consequently, certain state requirements need to be met including but not limited to the use of Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates.
