South Street to Grays Ferry Crescent
The Christian to Crescent project will close a major gap in the trail between the South to Christian and Grays Ferry Crescent trail segment. Until it opens, you can take SEPTA's 12 bus, or take the following route:
From the South Street Bridge southbound to the Grays Ferry Crescent (pictured above):
- Take South Street east and turn right onto 24th Street
- Stay on South 24th Street and turn right onto Grays Ferry Avenue
- Follow Grays Ferry Avenue west around the bend and past the Grays Ferry Shopping Center, 34th Street, and Pennovation
- At the FedEx parking lot driveway, which is just past Grove Street, cross over Grays Ferry Avenue to enter Schuylkill Banks through the blue arch just to the right of the parking lot entrance
From the Grays Ferry Crescent northbound to the Boardwalk (routes differ due to one-way streets):
- Exit the trail and stay straight on Grays Ferry Avenue towards 34th Street
- Follow Grays Ferry Avenue, continuing around the bend to Christian Street
- Turn left on Christian Street, which will dead end into Schuylkill Avenue
- Turn right onto Schuylkill Avenue and continue to Bainbridge Street - you can take a left to access the South to Christian segment utilizing the CHOP Bridge over the railroad tracks or turn right onto Bainbridge Street
- From Bainbridge, take the first left onto 27th Street, then turn left onto South Street and continue up the bridge. The ramp to the Boardwalk will be on your right just before the Schuylkill River.
