Connecting Neighborhoods to the Region: Northwest Schuylkill River Trails Summit
Join members of the MNYK Development Corporation, Roxborough Manayunk Conservancy, and The Circuit Trails Coalition at the Venice Island Performing Arts Center in Manayunk on Saturday, April 6th at 8:30AM for an exploration of current trail investments and future trail projects in Northwest Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township.
As you may know, the Greater Philadelphia area is the proud home of the Circuit Trails, a vast regional network of hundreds of miles of multi-use trails that's growing in size each year. The Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) makes up a significant portion of the regional trail network that connects our communities and provides opportunities for recreating and commuting. Attendees will hear from those who have made the Schuylkill River Trail in the Northwest Philadelphia and Lower Merion areas a reality and will learn more about the status of the connections that are undergoing planning and design to extend the trail in each direction. While the Schuylkill Banks portion of the SRT is not within the Northwest corner, it plays a vital role in connecting Northwest residents to destinations in Center City and beyond. SRDC will be part of the summit, presenting current and future developments of the SRT along the lower Schuylkill River.
