Temporary Locust St Crossing Closure Update

CSX Transportation recently performed track work that required the temporary closure of the Locust Street at-grade crossing onto Schuylkill Banks. CSX has informed SRDC that while the track work is now complete, they will not be able to open the crossing until it is repaved. This means that CSX must wait for local asphalt plants to open for the spring season, which could take some time given the delayed cold weather we are currently experiencing.

During this time, you can access the Banks via the Schuylkill River Parks Connector Bridge, Walnut Street, Chestnut Street, Market Street and JFK Bridges, or via the Race Street crossing, which will be unaffected by this work.
