Our summer events continue this Thursday, July 18 with the Schuylkill Banks Movie Series and a screening of Robin Hood at Grays Ferry Crescent. Walt Disney's clever adaption of this classic tale is full of musical interludes and melodrama - and great for watching riverside with family and friends! The movie will start at 8:30pm, but get there early for free snacks, a chance to enter a free raffle for Philadelphia Runner or Saxbys gifts cards and for free glow-in-the-dark giveaways provided by Oriental Trading Company. Schuylkill Banks Riverboat tours aboard Patriot Harbor Line's 1920’s-style mini commuter yacht continue on Saturday, July 20 with Secrets of the Schuylkill tours at 5:30pm and 7:00pm. This one-hour tour is a great way to see the city from a new perspective and to learn about the history of the Schuylkill River and Philadelphia. Riverboat tours to Bartram's Garden continue on Sunday, July 28 at 12pm and 12:55pm. The Boat to Bartram’s Garden riverboat tour is a three-hour tour that includes a guided riverboat ride and walking tour of Bartram’s Garden, a National Historic Landmark, and adjacent Sankofa Community Garden. For those seeking an urban adventure, Schuylkill Banks Kayak Tours, operated by Hidden River Outfitters, are a great way to explore the tidal Schuylkill River! Kayak tours include equipment rental, half an hour of instruction and a one-hour, professionally guided, round-trip tour of the Schuylkill from the Walnut Street Dock to the Fairmount Water Works, a National Historic Landmark. Free Fishing Meet-Ups continue on Thursday, July 18 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Grays Ferry Crescent Esplanade. This exciting new program is presented by the Gaun First Catch Center, which is sponsored by the PA Fish & Boat Commission and the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation. No fishing license is required for this free event. And, fishing rods, reels and bait will be provided! We will be back at the Walnut Street location on July 25 from 5pm to 7pm.
