Security Cameras on the Banks
On October 18, Councilman Kenyatta Johnson announced that the City will be installing 21 security cameras on Schuylkill Banks between Locust Street and Race Street. We thank Philadelphia Parks & Recreation for moving forward with this initiative, and Council President Darrell Clarke and Councilman Johnson for securing funding.
“Crime and violence on the Schuylkill River Trail is unacceptable and decreases the ability for everyone else to enjoy themselves when using a public resource safely," said Councilman Johnson. "I commend trail users who stand up to report any incidents and I urge everyone else to speak out. If you see something, say something.”
We are hopeful that these cameras will help to deter crime and keep all trail users safe, and we thank you for your patience during the installation process.
