Mayor Nutter Signs Executive Order making Philadelphia Parks Smoke-Free
Pusuant to a Mayoral Executive Order, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation—in conjunction with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health—recently enacted a policy making all PPR property smoke-free. The policy went into effect on April 29, 2014.
The policy builds on the 2011 Mayoral Executive Order that made all City recreation centers, playgrounds, and pools smoke-free. The policy applies to all City parks, including Schuylkill Banks and 100+ other neighborhood parks and watershed parks like Fairmount Park, Pennypack Park, and the Wissahickon Valley.
