The 16th Annual Philly Fun Fishing Fest, held on Schuylkill Banks on Saturday, September 11 was a ton of fun thanks to the Philadelphia Water Department, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, PA Fish and Boat Commission, and the 110 anglers that participated in the event! Experienced anglers and first-timers alike gathered along the sunny riverbank to compete for largest fish, smallest fish, and most fish caught. Participants won prizes, including deluxe tackle boxes from Flambeau Outdoors and gift certificates to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
71 fish from six different species were caught (and released), including White Perch, Perch, Channel Catfish, Flathead Catfish, American eel, and Eel. One participant hooked a 38 pound Flathead Catfish!
