Woolly Wonders

Saturday, March 6, 2021 - 1:00pm

Everyone loved Bernie Sanders’ up-cycled wool mittens at the Inauguration. The Fort Mifflin staff are giving you a chance to discover the magic behind the craft! Learn the steps of processing wool, and even spin a piece of wool into yarn on your lap. Experience what happens when you wash wool in hot water then up-cycle an old sweater to make a beautiful and useful pot holder to take home. Use basic embroidery and needle-felting techniques to make your creation “ewe-niquely” beautiful. Workshop is appropriate for ages 10 and up and class size is strictly limited to assure social distancing and a meaningful experience. Fee includes all materials general admission to the Fort for the day.
